Barbara's Story

Barbara Ann Pugh Hancock passed away Jan. 19, 2015, after a 10-month battle with cancer.. She was born May 2, 1954, in Indianapolis, to Alfred and Wilma Pugh. Hancock was a 1972 graduate of Carmel High School, where she was a member of the tennis and swim teams. She maintained both agent and broker real estate licenses and also had her own office cleaning company. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. Hancock also had a fondness for animals, which she depicted by her rock painting. She even taught an art class at the Zionsville library.. Survivors include her loving husband of 39 years, John; brothers, Daniel Pugh and Donald Ingmire; sisters, Janet Pugh and Susanne Cox; two stepchildren, Jim (Kelly) Hancock and Kimberly Dant; and three grandchildren, Codi Hancock and Abraham and Adia Dant.. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Hospital on 86th Street or St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
