Barbara Alice Russell
Barbara Alice Russell, 97, of Zionsville, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at Hoosier Village in Indianapolis. Barbara was born on August 17, 1922 a daughter of the late Byron and Amelia (Wyland) Spees. She graduated from Zionsville High School in 1940, and went on to earn a degree as a Registered Nurse in 1943 from General Hospital. In 1946, she married the love of her life, Earl Russell. She was the school nurse for Zionsville High School for 25 years. Barb enjoyed going to Zionsville Christian Church for most of her life. Survivors include her children: Jane (Ray) Osborn, Jim (Rena) Russell and David (Lynne) Russell; grandchildren: Brenda Siepman, Mike (Heather) Osborn, Todd Russell, Carol (Dan) Griffin, Cheryl Russell, Lisa Boston, Jeffrey (Audrey) Russell; a brother, Dr. Don Spees and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Bob Spees. Friends and family will gather for visitation Wednesday, October 10, 2019 from 11am until time of funeral services at 2pm at the Zionsville Christian Church, 120 N. 9th St. Zionsville, IN 46077. Burial at Zionsville Cemetery will immediately follow the service. Arrangements were entrusted to Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care of Zionsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Zionsville Christian Church: Earl Russell Music Fund, 120 N. 9th St. Zionsville, IN 46077.

When I was a student at the elementary school she was the nurse there and she was always so nice.
