Berry Bowman Connell passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, after losing his battle with cancer.
Berry served in the Army, 101st airborne in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic. He worked as an insulator in addition to other construction work.
He graduated from IPFW and attended the Herron School of Fine Art.
Berry has painted many fine works, and has shown most of his work over the past 20 years at the "April Show," as well as many other gallery showings. He is survived by his brother, Richard (Andrea) Connell; daughter, Christen Connell; and his partner of 29 years, Steve Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen Connell. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Zionsville Christian Church, 120 N. Ninth St. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at the church, with calling one hour prior.
Friends who own his artwork are asked to bring a favorite piece to display for services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jerrit Clayton at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care.
