Doris Jean (Stratton) Dwyer, 91, formerly of Indianapolis and Zionsville, died Jan. 3, 2015, in Rochester, New York, the home city of her daughter, Sharon Dwyer Buzard.. She was born Nov. 17, 1923, to Ida (Wolfinger) Stratton and Henry A. Stratton. Throughout the years, Dwyer was employed by L.S. Ayres and Turner Building and Savings. She volunteered with children, the elderly, and in various libraries. She was devoted to animals and the Butler Bulldogs.. Besides her daughter, she is survived by her grandchildren, Laura E. Buzard (Jeffrey Smith) of Seattle, Washington, and Susannah H. Buzard of Boston; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.. Dwyer is predeceased by her husband, Arthur C. Dwyer, an Army Air Corps pilot and microbiologist; her parents; and siblings, Lloyd Stratton, Vera Stern, Marjorie London, and Vernon Stratton.. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Zionsville United Methodist Church, 9644 Whitestown Road..
