Edward J. Cook, 83, of Zionsville, died May 13, in Indianapolis. Ed was born in Indianapolis on Jan. 26, 1929 to the late James and Nellie (Wheeler) Cook.. Ed started his restaurant career in 1964 at the Walsh Pharmacy at 38th and Meridian in Indianapolis, then he opened Fast Eddie’s restaurant. After selling the restaurant, he became a baker for Hardees in Zionsville and retired in 2010 from the Eagle Elementary School cafeteria. Ed was a hardworking man that loved spending time with his family and friends.. Ed is preceded in death by his brothers Chester, Lester and Jim Cook. Ed is survived by his loving wife Mary Cook; daughters, Sheila (Bill) Kessler, Terry Steele (Jim Ruark), Cindy McKamey (Alan Rogers); sister, Nellie Jean Wilkerson; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at Flanner and Buchanan – Zionsville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, at the funeral center.
