Zionsville. Ellen Hardin. Ellen Hardin, age 80, of Zionsville, peacefully left this world on Sept. 27, 2014.. Ellen was born on Feb. 11, 1934, in Bloomfield, the daughter of Clyde and Dorcas Staser. She graduated from Zionsville High School in 1952 and worked at Western Electric. She married the love of her life, Jerry Hardin, on Dec. 27, 1953.. Ellen is a former member of Eastern Star and a member of Zionsville Christian Church. She was a stay-at-home mom until all of her children entered school. She worked in a secretarial capacity for several businesses, including Zionsville Community High School, Zionsville United Methodist Church, Amco Elevators, and Ivy Tech, before retiring from Kiwanis International in 1996.. She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her husband, Jerry; daughters, Terrie Keen (Rusty) and Tracey McDonnell (Steve); sons, Steve (Traci) and Doug; brother, Richard Staser, of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.. Ellen is preceded in death by her parents.. Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at Flanner and Buchanan – Zionsville. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, with calling one hour prior. Burial will follow at Zionsville Cemetery.. Memorial contributions in Ellen’s honor may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Zionsville Christian Church.. Arrangements are entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan - Zionsville.
