Janine R. Ranzenberger (Bean), 57, of Reedsburg passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 surrounded by her husband, daughters and son in law. Janine bravely and fiercely battled Glioblastoma for the past 7 months.
She was born April 24, 1959, in Wakefield, Mich., the daughter of David and Janet (Wilson) Fassino. She grew up in Menomonie, Wisc., and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1977. She met her future husband, Larry, while working at Lamers Grocery Store in town. She married the love of her life on June 24, 1978, and shared 38 wonderful years together. In 1983, she moved to Zionsville with Larry and their young daughter. While living here, she worked in accounting at the Kroger corporate office. She had many good friends in Zionsville. She later moved to Reedsburg in 1997 with her family and two daughters. She was a secretary at Jack Young Middle School from 2000-2016. The JYMS staff was like a second family to her.
Janine liked the sunshine and hot weather. She enjoyed working outside in her flower gardens. She was always a great hostess and had many wonderful parties at her home. She loved little kids and snuggling with babies. She was lovingly referred to as a baby hog and never denied it. She enjoyed going to plays in Madison and monthly suppers with her Buckhorn girls from the neighborhood. She looked forward to dressing up for weddings and dancing to the electric slide at the receptions. Christmas was always a special time for Janine although she enjoyed decorating the house for all seasons. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family. She liked Friday night date nights with her husband and would occasionally even let him take her fishing on the Wisconsin River. She especially loved any time spent with her two beautiful daughters that she was always so proud of. She was also proud of her Italian heritage.
Janine is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters Jaci Ranzenberger of Baraboo, Wisc., and Jessi (Mike) Berkebill of Santa Cruz, Calif.; parents Jan and Dave Fassino of Menomonie; brother Dan Fassino of Los Banos, CA; sister Barb (Bill) Midling of Key Largo, FL; sister Amy (Randy) Burton of Menomonie, Wisc,; her extended Ranzenberger family, and many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her father-in-law, Darold Buck Ranzenberger, and special cousin, John (Feez) Fassino and her grand-dog, Maxwell.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Emanuel United Methodist Church, 101 14th St., Baraboo, Wisc. 53913 with Pastor Blake Overlien officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home, 401 Madison Ave., in Baraboo as well as from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Sunday.
