Jerry L. Carter, 66, of Cutler, died Friday, December 2, 2011.. He was born to the late Cleon and Leona Carter, December 12, 1944, in Logansport, IN.  Jerry graduated from Carroll High School in 1963 and received a BS in Surveying from Purdue University in 1972.  Married in 1967 to Wanda Mae Washington they lived in Zionsville, IN., before relocating to Cutler in 2005.. Jerry was a Land Surveyor, a trade that he learned while in the Army in Kirchgoens, Germany, between 1965 -1967.  He was passionate about his profession, working for various firms until starting his own company, Carter Land Consultants, in 2006.. Jerry was active in the Cutler community, working with the Promoting Wildcat Valley, Inc., the Carroll County Historical Society and working diligently to get the church bell raised again at the site of the Ball Hill Methodist Church in Cutler where he was a former member.. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Wanda, his son Casey and his daughter-in-law Laura, of Zionsville, IN, his daughter Courtney, of Arlington Heights, IL.. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Promoting Wildcat Valley, Inc. and the Carroll County Historical Society.. A private burial was held at Ball Hill Cemetery in Cutler, IN.  A public memorial will take place Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 at 3:00pm at the Indianapolis Art Center, 820 E. 67th Street, Indianapolis, IN.
