Jon Creighton Williamson died Friday, June 26, 2015, in Zionsville.. He was born July 29, 1943, in Washington, DC, to Henry Creighton Williamson and Mary Evelyn (Eve) Brunton Williamson. Jon grew up in Bethesda, Maryland, and graduated from the University of Maryland. He joined Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity in his freshman year, and it remained an integral part of his entire life.. Being a man of great honor, who felt it was his duty to serve his country, Jon enlisted in the Army and served a year in Vietnam. He had a long career working with the Treasury Department in Houston, Texas, and after retirement he went on to have a second career as the executive director of the North-American Interfraternity Conference. At the time of his death, Jon lived in Zionsville.. Jon leaves his wife, Laura Waters Williamson; his sons, Robb (Fay) Williamson, Richard (Kristy) Williamson, Chris (Emily) Williamson; and daughter, Whitney (Stuart) Miller. He also leaves seven grandchildren: Jon Williamson, Mariam and Minno Durkin, Max and Ellie Williamson, Creighton Williamson, and James Miller.. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in his name to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Zionsville United Methodist Church, 9644 Whitestown Road..
