Lee Walter (Jake) Foster, of Zionsville, passed away peacefully on Sept. 23, 2014.. Born Feb. 16, 1927, to Oval (Polly) and Mattie Foster, Lee was a lifelong Zionsville resident and served his country as a staff sergeant in WWII. Coming home from Germany he married Marilyn Markland, and they were married 53 years. In 2003, he married Lois Regenstein, of Brazil, Indiana, and gained a whole other large stepfamily.. Lee worked at Rock Island Refinery for 35 years, raised his family, and upon retirement took over his dad’s little town hauling business. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and served on the Zionsville Fire Department. His main hobbies and interests in life were taking care of his many roses and enjoying being surrounded by family and friends. Lee was an absolute rock to all: family, extended family, step family and friends. In turn, his life was rewarded by being loved and cared for by all who knew him.. He is survived by his sons, Kevin, Greg and Steve; his cousins/sisters, Sunny (Kenipe) Johnston and Joyce (Kenipe) Vadbunker; niece, Diane Elmore; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Other survivors include his stepchildren, Ken Mauer, Robert Mauer, Fritz Mauer, Mary Beth Garrigus, Aaron Rugenstein, Lee Ann Senoussi, and their children and grandchildren.. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Brent; and cousin/sister, Bonnie Kenipe, Diana Kenipe and Pam (Kenipe) Cavin.. Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, with visitation from 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, at Flanner and Buchanan – Zionsville..
