Zionsville. Lewis L. Davis. Lewis Lee Davis, 77, of Zionsville, died at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.. Lewis was born Sept. 15, 1936, in Hartsville, Indiana, to Floyd Orrill and Edna Mae Brown Davis. He graduated from West Point High School in Tippecanoe County and from Indiana University. Lewis served in the United States Army from June 1954 to May 1957.. He was managing partner at Heritage Land Company and was previously employed for 42 years at The Heritage Group in Indianapolis, where he was vice president of administration. Lewis was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Zionsville and served many years on the board of the United Methodist Children’s Home in Lebanon.. On June 7, 1959, he married Alta Marie Smith, and she survives in Zionsville. Also surviving are daughters, D'Andrea Lee Davis Speer (Gregg), Danelle Marie Davis Butler (William) and Delaine Mar-Lee Davis; four grandchildren, Mclane Davis Speer, Kensington Marie Speer, Laine Elizabeth Butler and Reece Marie Butler; and two sisters, Harriott Davis Byers (Buford) and Merlyn Davis Borden (Marvin, deceased).. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents.. Visitation was 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Miller officiating.
