Louis Erwin Clark. March 14, 1929 – May 7, 2014. Louis Erwin Clark, 85, of Zionsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 7, 2014.. Born in Proctor, West Virginia, Louis was the only child of Opal (Finch) and Walter Clark. He lived with his parents and grandparents.. Louis was a 1947 graduate from Clay-Battelle High School in Blacksville, West Virginia, where he played on the football team and also played in the marching band. He attended West Virginia University and Fairmont State in West Virginia, where he studied electrical engineering. In 1949 he married his high school sweetheart, Joanna Corwin, of Blacksville, West Virginia, and later moved to Howell, Michigan. He worked as an electrician for Howell Electric Co. as a lineman. He later worked for Walter Parks Electric Co. of Howell as an electrical estimator. When that position ended he advanced himself and became employed at Dunn Electric, out of Ann Arbor, Michigan, also as an estimator, while attending Michigan State University.. Louis was a Boy Scout Leader in Howell for many years, where the troop enjoyed many trips. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Howell, until his employment transferred him to Indianapolis in 1972.. He was then employed by the Watson-Flagg Electric Co. (a Fishbach and Moore Electric Co.), where he later became the vice president for most of his career. He was also employed by Shambaugh & Son, Inc. electric company and Miller-Ed Electric Co., all of Indianapolis. He retired to care for his parents in their later years.. Surviving Louis are his wife, Joanna (Corwin) Clark of Zionsville, a retired educator of Pike Township Schools; son Bradley (Cheryl) Clark of Howell, retired from GM; daughter Debra (Bryan) Clark Eller of Indianapolis, employed at Pike Township Schools; son Douglas (Stephanie) of Ft. Wayne, employed at Shambaugh & Son, Inc of Ft. Wayne; niece, Kathy (Tom) Anderson Vlasik of Cleveland, Ohio, (who he raised as his own after her mother passed), retired; grandchildren, Darold (Anne) Joseph Lieberman of Gladwin, Michigan, Douglas Truman Lieberman of Danville, Indiana, David Ian Lieberman of Indianapolis, Amy Clark of Ft. Wayne, Jessica Clark of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Adam (Lisa) Clark of Brighton, Michigan, Joanna (Ryan) Clark Adams of Brighton, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Jacob Lieberman, Anthony Lieberman Nelson, Reagan Lieberman, Gabrielle and Brendon Clark, Rylee Adams; and many friends and neighbors.. He was preceded in death by his parents, Opal (Finch) and Walter Clark, and grandparents, Dortha and Wilf Finch, all of Proctor, West Virginia.. Visitation was 10 a.m. to noon Monday, May 12, at the Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center of Zionsville, 105 W. Pine St., with the funeral immediately following. Burial was at the Eagle Creek Cemetery located on Little Eagle Creek Avenue, Zionsville.
