Robert's Story

Robert Lewis Lear, 92, passed away on Feb. 20, 2018. He was born on Feb. 14, 1926 in Fairfield, Illinois to the late Walter and Emma Jane (Grove) Lear.
Robert and his wife, Eva, moved to Zionsville on March 1, 1956. Robert owned and operated Marko Excavating Co. and together with Eva, built and owned Lear's Mobile Home Park until it was sold in 1993.
He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Lear) Johnson and husband Randy, Vickie (Lear) Lee and husband Mark; grandchildren, Chad Lee, Reanna (Johnson) Brown, Cresta (Lee) Wintin and husband Josh, Cody Lee and wife Caroline, Ashley Johnson; great grandchildren, Cohen Wintin, Campbell Wintin, and Callie Lee. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Lear on Dec. 9, 2013.
A Celebration of Life for Robert and Eva will be on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. at the American Legion in Zionsville. All friends are welcome to come and say a final goodbye. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any Veterans Associations of the donor's choice.
