Dr. Russell Michael McQuay Jr., 90, of Carmel, passed away on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.. He was born on Sept. 6, 1921, to Russell Michael and Helen (Eede) McQuay in Olean, N.Y.. Russell was a parasitologist in the field of microbiology at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago from 1952-86. He earned his PhD in parasitology from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. He was an adjunct faculty member of Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital and Northwestern Medical Center in Chicago. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, and Grace Community Church in Noblesville. He was a WWII Army veteran.. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean McQuay; daughter, Paula (Daniel) McQuay Reitsma; son, Kam (Deb) McQuay; and two grandchildren, Kendall and Morgan McQuay.. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Emma Parry.. Services were Friday, Dec. 2, at Grace Community Church, 5504 E. 146th St., in Noblesville, with Pastor David Rodriguez officiating. Burial was in Union Lutheran Cemetery in Zionsville..
