Stephen Jacob Strecker, 42, of Zionsville, passed away suddenly on Nov. 22, 2017 at his home. Steve was born on May 23, 1975 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
He attended South Lyon High School and went on to attend Kalamazoo College, where he played basketball for the Hornets including the Hall of Fame 1995-96 team.
After college, he started his career at Wage Works where he has spent the last 20 years.
He moved to Indiana in 2002 and married the love of his life, Lisa in 2003, and they started their family in 2004. He was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He spent much of his time coaching soccer, basketball and numerous softball teams.
As a member of the Zionsville Little League Board, he helped secure the Central Region Headquarters in Zionsville.
Working from home allowed him the flexibility to dedicate much of his time to his children, and he was very active in their lives. "Streck" will be remembered for his bear hugs, his infectious smile, and his ability to make people laugh.
He is survived by his wife of almost 15 years Lisa Richter; children Isabella (13), Campbell (10), Elliana "Elli" (9), and Grayson (7); parents Linda Siriani (Dennis) and Jacob Strecker (Judy Waters); siblings Jenny Thornsberry (Todd), Rachael Strecker, and Matthew Strecker (Corrina); mother-in-law Barb Richter (Gary), sister-in-law Jill DeSloover (Jamie); and step sister-in-law Jessica Larson (John); family dog Khloe, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved dog Indy.
