Valerie Anne Neagle


Valerie Anne Neagle, 70, died at home in Zionsville on June 12, 2019. She was born on December 7, 1948 in Elgin, Illinois; a daughter of the late Ovid "Stormy" and Barbara Mae Neagle.
She was a 1966 graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School and attended Baker University in Kansas.
She was employed by and attended Zionsville United Methodist Church where she served on the Missions Committee, Evangelism and Senior Adult Ministry (SAM), was a part of the welcome team, a preschool teacher and active in the before and after school program (ROCK), active in her Sunday morning Class (Z'SPA), her Emmaus Reunion Group, Bible Study, Book Club, Tuesday night dinner group, and was always very visible at church functions and was very passionate in her faith. Valerie also worked for Boone County Senior Services, was a foster parent and a daycare provider.
Valerie volunteered many hours at signature healthcare of Parkwood. She, along with her best friend Betsy Doepken volunteered on breast cancer events. She loved music both recorded and live, food (cooking and eating), she made the best chex mix on the planet. Valerie also enjoyed travel, crafts, making jewelry, sewing, scrapbooking, photography and loved spending time with her family. Valerie was kind, generous, loving and gentle and she brought smiles to everyone she met. She was deeply loved by many and will be sorely missed.
Survivors include two daughters, Amy Buckley of Fort Myers, FL, Rebecca Morrow of Mooresville, IN; son, Michael Cunningham of Covington, WA; four
grandsons, Justin Buckley, Matthew Buckley, Colt Morrow, Easton Cunningham; sister, Linda Neagle of Gulfport, MS; life partner,John Richardson along with several nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, Valerie was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Phillips, brother, James Neagle and son-in-law, Tony Buckley.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.
Visitation is planned from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 19 at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
