William Lee Cripe Sr. passed away Oct. 27, 2014, at the age of 78, in Zionsville.. He was born Oct. 12, 1936, to Ruth Reynolds Cripe and Herbert W. Cripe in Frankfort. Bill was a longtime Zionsville resident and a 1956 graduate of Eagle Township High School. He attended Indiana State Teachers College before joining the U.S. Army in 1958.. Bill held a master barber license and owned Bill's Barbershop on Main Street before pursuing a career as a professional photographer. He photographed weddings, families, seniors and sports in Boone County for the past 35 years before retiring.. He was a member of the Zionsville American Legion Post No. 79 and a charter member of the Zionsville Volunteer Ambulance before it became part of the Zionsville Fire Department.. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Roberta (Birdie) Cripe; two sons, William Jr. (Stephanie) and Robert (girlfriend Wendy); and two grandchildren, Carly and Liam Cripe.. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Zionsville Cemetery, with calling two hours before the service at the Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Zionsville.. .
