Gregory's Story

Gregory Robert Bowles Benefiel, 44, of Mooresville, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, in the comfort of his home and surrounded by loved ones.. He was born on July 31, 1970, in Indianapolis, to Eddie J. Bowles and Patricia Kay (Brady) Bowles Benefiel.. He was raised in Zionsville and graduated from Zionsville Community High School in 1989. During his senior year, he attended J. Everett Light Career Center at North Central, where he started his studies to be an electrical automotive technician. He received an associate degree at WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming, and later earned his master technician degree from Cincinnati.. Greg worked at Lockhart Cadillac for 13 years and most recently at Duke Energy. He belonged to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hiking, fishing, skiing, hunting, and traveling. He bought a 1970 GTO when he was 10 years old and took great pleasure in spending time restoring it throughout his lifetime. Greg’s contagious smile, outgoing personality, and overall ambition will be remembered by all who knew him.. Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Patricia Benefiel, of Greenwood; paternal grandmother, Betty Bowles, of Coalfax; stepchildren, Riley and J.P. Brennan, of Monrovia; sister, Misty Benefiel Alexander (husband, Chris); brother, John Bowles Benefiel, of Indianapolis; nephews, Noah Jacob and Brady Benefiel; his adored and loving companion, Sniega Radzeviciene, of Muncie; beloved fur children, Chevy and Zappy; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Eddie J. Bowles; maternal grandparents, Robert and Elenora Brady; and paternal grandfather, Jack Bowles.. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Greg’s life from noon to 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Our Lady of the Greenwood Parish, 335 S. Meridian St., Greenwood. A memorial Mass will immediately follow the gathering at 2 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Morgan County Humane Society, 690 W.
