Joel Lee Gauthier, 72, of Zionsville, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015, at IU North Hospital in Carmel.. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Feb. 20, 1943, the only child of Allen E. and Frances G. (Fuller) Gauthier. Raised in Michigan, Joel graduated from Bloomfield Hills High School and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. From 1967 to 1969, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.. On Aug. 22, 1964, Joel was married to Lynne I. Feetham in Detroit, Michigan, and they spent 50 loving years together.. Joel moved to Indiana in 1989 after spending many years in Michigan and Washington, DC. He spent his working career as a CPA, and in 1991 Joel started his own firm, Gauthier & Kimmerling, LLC, in Indianapolis. During his life he held many memberships including the Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, the Kiwanis of Indianapolis, Triangle Fraternity and several antique car clubs. Joel held positions on the boards of the Buick Heritage Alliance and the Fletcher Place.. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Lynne Gauthier, of Zionsville; two children, Douglas Gauthier and wife, Carla, of Zionsville, and Kristin Mikarts and husband, Mark, of Venice, Florida; and five grandchildren, Olivia, Andrew, Jack, Zachary and Ryan.. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory, 1502 N.
