Robert Kidwell Rabb, 87, of Zionsville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017.
He was born Oct. 17, 1929, to Max and Georgia Rabb. Bob graduated in 1948 from Washington High School in Indianapolis. After high school, he worked on the railroad with his father from 1948-1952. In January of 1952 he began his 40-year career with Kraft Foods as a salesman.
On Sept. 26, 1953, Bob married Marilyn Horan, of Indianapolis. They started their family in Speedway and lived there until 1966 when they moved to Zionsville to raise their five children. In 1991, Bob retired from Kraft to spend time with Marilyn in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Bob was an avid golfer. He enjoyed hunting golf balls, playing cards, and fishing with family. Bob lived for his family and friends; he never met a stranger.
He had eight grandchildren, Jessica Richmond (Scott), Megan Rabb, David Rabb (Monica), Tanner Rabb, Brandon Rabb, Brian Rabb, Molly Rabb, and Christina Rabb; and two great-grandchildren, Brennan and Madelyn Richmond.
Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Jace Ann Michael (Tootsie), and his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Horan Rabb.
Celebration of life will be at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Zionsville on Feb. 14. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., with funeral Mass to follow at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
